About the Farm
This lot comes from Bookkisa, a small community in the Shaakkiso district of Guji, southern Ethiopia. It’s produced by Sookoo, a family-run company led by Ture Waji, known locally as “The King of Guji.” Working with 33 local smallholder farmers, Sookoo focuses on transparency, sustainability, and long-term community development.
The contributing farms average less than 5 hectares each and are planted with 74110 and 74112, disease-resistant Ethiopian landraces. Sookoo provides pre-harvest loans, agricultural training, and supports environmental initiatives like planting indigenous shade trees to improve biodiversity and soil health. They’ve also invested in community infrastructure like roads and schools.

About the Coffee
This Grade 1 Fully Washed lot is grown at 2,000–2,200 masl, handpicked, and processed at Sookoo’s washing station in Bookkisa. After selective sorting, cherries are pulped, fermented, and washed before drying on raised beds under the sun. Once dried, they are hulled and rested before export.
Guji coffees like this are celebrated for their bright acidity, delicate florals, and clean cup profiles. Expect a vibrant, structured cup — a benchmark example of high-elevation washed Ethiopian coffee.
